1. Scrumdiddly’s – Dun Laoghaire, Kilkenny, and Donabate
Visiting Scrumdiddly’s has been a popular with many Irish families for years now and is a great place to create a custom tub of silky, delicious Irish ice cream. With a seemingly endless amount of toppings, sauces, and flavours of cream, you can create up to 7,000 unique combinations of flavours.
2. Casanova Gelato – Cork
This Gelato is the healthier alternative to ice cream while still being ice cream that is enjoyable on a warm sunny day. Casanova offers a selection of hand-crafted real Italian gelato with over 43 flavours in constant rotation.
3. Bubble Waffle Factory – Dublin
Bubble Waffles are a tasty treat that originated in Hong Kong with a unique texture and taste slightly different from your traditional waffle cone. All things bubble is the theme here, where you can enjoy bubble tea alongside your bubble waffle cone.
4. Fabio’s – Sligo Town
Local legend Fabio is known for handmaking his gelato using Irish milk and seasonal, organic, local, or wild ingredients. He learned this method in his home city of Florence. The menu is consistently rotating based on ingredients and is a must-stop on a warm day.
5. Spooney’s – Lahinch
Spooney’s is a great spot to grab a scoop by the waterfront. Spooney’s is a unique ice cream stop as it is well known for being strictly cow to cone. Raw milk is gathered from Lacey’s farm every morning, pasteurized, and then churned into the rich ice cream that creates the long queues you can expect on a nice day.
6. Murphy’s – Dingle, Kildare, Dublin, Killarney, and Galway
Murphy’s ice cream is handmade in Dingle from fresh milk and locally sourced ingredients. Murphy’s is famous for their flavour experimentation that has led to some local favorites and some unusual combinations it’s hard to resist trying.
7. Teddy’s – Dun Laoghaire
What started out as a small shop overlooking Scotman’s Bay now has several shops across Ireland. Teddy’s features 99 whipped ice cream flavors served in a cone and a wide selection of other sweets to choose from.
8. Mammy Johnston’s – Strandhill
Mammy Johnston’s makes their gelatos in-house with rotating flavours daily to mix it up. Located in the perfect spot right next to Strandhill Beach, perfect for those gorgeous days where a scoop of gelato is a must.
9. Storm in a Teacup – Skerries
A Storm in a Teacup has been a local favourite for a long time now. Located directly on the waterfront in a cute cottage in Skerries, Co. Dublin you can choose from a simple selection of flavour combinations or create your own before you head out to enjoy the views of Skerries harbour and the Irish sea.
10. Bueno – Tullamore
This ice cream that started as a popup now has three locations across Ireland. The whipped ice cream is made from scratch on-site every day. Bueno is well known for its playful ice cream and topping combinations, perfect for photos, even better for enjoying!
