With the latest round of restrictions early in the New Year now taking effect, we want to reassure our members that as an essential service, GoCar will continue to operate as normal throughout all levels of restrictions with increased cleaning.
What are the restrictions and how long are they set to last?
Level 5 restrictions were fully reintroduced on December 31st and will be reviewed again towards the end of the month of January 2021.
This means, amongst other things:
- No social household gatherings
- Restaurants, Cafés, Gastropubs are takeaway only
- Most non-essential retail will be Click & Collect only
- You can exercise within 5kms of your home but to stay at home as much as possible

How are we playing our part?
Since the pandemic began in early 2020 we have increased the frequency of our cleans of our vehicles with added sanitization for piece of mind. We have also managed our fleet in ways to reduce usage of individual cars. Our recommendations will also help members use GoCar safely during all levels of restrictions.

We’ve also waived our cancellation fees for the time being so you have peace of mind knowing if feel sick you can cancel at any time prior to your booking, free of charge.

How can you play your part?
For the safety of members and staff, we ask that you:
- Do not use shared transport services such as GoCar if you are experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19 or if you’ve any reason to suspect you’ve been infected
- Bring your face mask and sanitizer as you would with most trips outside home
- Only share a GoCar with members of your own household as per HSE guidelines
- Please leave your GoCar as you would like to find it
