10 Great Places to Shop Sustainable in Ireland

 

With non-essential retail reopening this week, everyone will be flocking to the shops again that we haven’t been in since before the start of the year. As everything in retail is open again, we wanted to promote the sustainable retailers across the country.

 

We’ve listed some (now reopened) Irish sustainable retailers that are within walking distance of our GoBases including popular farmers market selling great sustainable products! See them below.

1. Reuzi 

 

 

This popular sustainable store is located in the heart of Foxrock Village in South Dublin and sells everything from Self care products to skincare to tasty nibbles. They are located just across the road from our Foxrock Village Car Park GoBase

 

 

2. The Filling Station, Galway

 

 

If you’re in Galway and looking to reduce waste, The Filling Station let’s you bring your jar or container and refill it up with a great selection of food, laundry and household products amongst others! The Filling Station is only around the corner from our GoBase at Bowling Green.

A very apt name for this popular zero waste store who have recently added a new location south of the River Liffey in Inchicore. Check out their store in Drumcondra, near our St. Anne’s Road & St. Georges Avenue GoBases with their Dublin 8 location right beside our GoBases on  Emmet Road, Inchicore.

Located in the Swan Centre in Rathmines, The Hopsack provides delish nutritional and health foods amongst others in a friendly environment. You can find them across the road from our Leinster Square GoBase.

 

5 Farmers Markets with Sustainable vendors

 

1. The Milk Market 

 

 

The Milk Market in Limerick has been going for over 150 years and takes place every Friday, Saturday & Sunday with great local vendors. Check them out here

 

 

2. The SuperNatural Food Market

 

 

If you’re in the capital on a Saturday you may want to drop by The SuperNatural Food Market for some organic goodness. The market opens every Saturday 9:30am – 3:30pm and supports small local producers. See more of them here. 

 

3. Skerries Mills Farmers Market

 

 

This popular market located in Skerries, North Co. Dublin opens every Saturday from 10am – 3pm with stalls from arts and crafts, handmade creations, organic food and more! See more on them here.  

 

 

4. Ballyvaughan Farmers Market

 

 

If you’re in the Galway region,  a trip to the Ballyvaughan Farmers Market will be well worthwhile. Opening every Saturday from 10am – 2pm, they not only have locally made, grown and produced foods but also a local musician that helps create a nice and relaxed atmosphere.  See more here. 

 

 

5. The Green Door Market
